Apartment 104 is home to a 24 year old student named Sofia who has a vision impairment that would cause her eyesight to deteriorate to the point where she will lose her sight completely.
The aim of this project was to create a minimalistic design fused with fun and feminine elements to create Sofia's very own space that will help her adapt and grow into the person she aims to be and express herself freely.
Taking into consideration Sofia's love for music and playing the piano, a dedicated study area that also serves as her music room has been implemented into the center of the apartment which would help her easily access the other areas such as the kitchen, dining and living.
The materials incorporated into the study are a continuation of what has already been implemented throughout the apartment with the addition of subtle pops of pink to add colour and softness into the space.
The living area has been kept minimal and clutter free by putting in a sofa and armchair while using fun and bright colours such as dark red, pink and oranges that can be found in different areas of the space. Furthermore, the built in joinery area was specifically designed for the purpose of showcasing Sofia's old turntable and record collection.
The main bedroom features the use of contrast through the implementation of off white tones and black elements along with the addition of pops of pink.
